Columns Max is shareware, which means it is distributed in a "try before you buy" format. If you like the game and decide to keep it, please be honest and pay the $15 shareware fee! When you pay the registration fee, you will not only feel good about supporting a small shareware author, you will also benefit from several features present in the registered version of Columns Max that are not found in the unregistered version. Among them are the ability to load alternative backgrounds and piece graphics from an external file, and an "autoplay" mode in which the computer plays against itself, making the best move it can for each piece as it falls.
When you register your copy of Columns Max, you will be sent a unique registration code that will allow you to remove the shareware notice, unlock the additional program features, and optionally personalize your copy of Columns Max so that your name appears in the registration info box in the corner of the screen. Registration entitles you to any and all future versions of Columns Max, but does not include any free disks from the author- these may be purchased separately if you wish.
